Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited high-tech microbiology enterprise Geofert in Kaspi - a venture that manufactures environmentally friendly bacterial, humic, organic and mineral fertilizers.
The plant is equipped with ultramodern devices and production lines."
A very bright example of economic development based on the modern technologies, - the Prime Minister assessed newly-opened enterprise where Georgian scientists managed to develop new soil recovery technology.
"Utilization of mineral fertilizers and chemicals represents a major problem leading to the soil depletion, environmental pollution and the worst part is that we consume the food that contains all these elements.Whereas, products manufactured at this enterprise are ecologically clean. Georgia may take over the niche of manufacturer of biologically and ecologically clean products," - the Prime Minister noted.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the cost of import of devices installed at the enterprise would reach 25-30 million USD, whereasproduction with the participation of Georgian scientists became feasible upon investing 7million USD.
Cartu Fundfunded the enterprise. Manufactured goods increase the productivity and do not pollute environment, the product accelerates soil recovery.
Currently 120 individuals are employed at the enterprise. After the plant becomes fully operational, the number of employed individuals will double. Prime Minister welcomed employment of the local residents at the factory.
"This is a good example of how new technologies and Georgian scientists may contribute to the development of enterprise that introduces groundbreaking methodologies in the field of agriculture," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.
Central laboratory functioning in the enterprise enables learning of new technologies and developing of new microbiological chemicals. Laboratory also conducts control of products throughout the manufacturing process. This ensures provision of high quality products to the consumers. The product is focused on both local and export markets.
